Sony’s GP-VPT2BT wireless shooting grip is designed with the modern-day creator in mind. This group includes travel vloggers, YouTube personalities, and Instagram influencers. The folks that are constantly filming content, cutting videos, and more often than not, doing it solo, or with a barebones team.

The new wireless shooting grip is compact, cable-free, and rugged enough to fend off dust and moisture. It’s compatible with the following Sony cameras:

  • a9 II
  • a9
  • a7R IV
  • a7R III
  • a7 III
  • a6600
  • a6400
  • a6100
  • RX10 VII

The grip connects via Bluetooth technology—meaning no pesky cables or exposed camera inputs—great for shooting in rugged outdoor conditions. The grip can be set to vertical shooting mode or used as a tripod for hands-free capture. The grip features dedicated buttons for photo and video modes, as well as a flip button, a zoom switch, and an angle adjust button. And because the connection is wireless, the camera doesn’t have to be physically connected for the remote controls to work.

The grip transforms into a compact tripod for solo shoots. Sony

The grip will be available at the end of the month for $140. Check out the video above to see the grip in action.
