We all got a look at Olympus’s new interchangeable-lens compact a couple weeks ago, but now the big O has announced that it will cost $699 bundled with either the M.Zuiko 14-42mm lens or the Zuiko 17mm. Both kits will start shipping in September. Because of the E-PL3’s 2x crop factor, the zoom acts like a 28-84mm lens and the 17mm pancake has the equivalent field of view of a 34mm lens on a full-frame body.

The new VF-3 electronic viewfinder attaches to via the accessory shoe and offers 100% field of view. It has built-in magnification and diopter adjustment and even lets you adjust the brightness and color temperature. The VF-3 also rotates up to 90-degrees, which is an advantage electronic viewfinders have over their optical counterparts. It will sell for $179.
