Today's Photo of the Day comes from Sapna Reddy and was taken in Monument Valley, Utah with a Nikon D800E and a 24-70 mm f/2.8 lens at f/8 and ISO 100. This image is a composite of two long exposures—one taken a half hour after sunset and a second longer exposure taken to capture the Milky Way a few hours later. See more work here.Sapna Reddy

Photographer Fred Roe captured these two Atlantic puffins on Machias Seal Island in New Brunswick, Canada using a Nikon D7100 with a 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. Today's Photo of the Day comes from Justin Van Leeuwen and was taken at the Richmond Plaza Motel in Ottawa, Canada. The girl in the photograph was Van Leeuwen's assistant for the night of the shoot and was standing in for a light test on set. "No speedlights or strobes used in this image, the hotel had these pot-lights positioned all around and she just stood in front of one," Van Leeuwen writes of the image.
