“Through numerous walks over the past two years, I’ve been able to photograph some pretty cool birds but never an owl,” Lemmer writes about the image. “I took a walk around the neighborhood today with camera in tow and by accident stumbled upon this impressive guy this afternoon. So thrilled to finally find an owl and have him pose nicely for me for a few shots!” See more work here.

This playful portrait of a chipmunk is the product of a sharp eye and a lot of patience. “I happened to see this chipmunk running in the field from the bird feeder to the woods but every now and then it would stop in that long grass to clean up or just hang out,” St-Amour writes of the image. “So I sat there and waited for the next round.” See more work here.
