Digital image files are getting bigger all the time and all that data is putting a serious hurting on hard drives all over the place. But, backing up is still essential–if inconvenient–which is why I’m a big fan of networked storage. The newest set-up from Seagate works with their GoFlex system, which lets you attach their external hard drives via dock. the FreeAgent GoFlex Home dock play nice with your home network, allowing you to send files from any computer in your house straight to its spacious drives.
There are two models available, includnig a 1TB version (That’s 1,000 GB) for $159 and a 2TB model for $229. While it’s not the most feature-rich solution available, it’s designed to be incredibly easy to use and still offers up some advanced features like their Share Pro service, which allows you to access files on the drive from mobile devices like smartphones or even the iPad.
