By now, you have seen Sony’s new interchangeable lens compact cameras, the NEX-3 and the NEX-5. But, it looks like Sony has more AVCHD magic up their sleeves for later in the year. According to the extremely limited press material offered up by Sony, the camcorder system will “feature key technologies” from the NEX cameras. Inside will be the same Exmore APS HD CMOS sensor and it will use the same E-mount lenses. The presser uses the term “full HD” a few times, which we assume means they’ll be upping the ante to 1080p with the new camcorder system, as opposed to the maximum 1080i resolution offered by the NEX-5. The promo video is posted above, but it really doesn’t offer much information, unless you were wondering whether the camera can spin around on a black background while dramatic music plays.
