Samsung wants you to get creative with your compact
Trying to get some inspiration for shooting with your compact camera? Samsung came up with a neat promotion for its new NX10, by putting it out in a photo competition for talented young art-school students. In partnership with the School of Visual Arts in New York, Samsung’s World Creative Imaging Competition enabled 120 students from fine art schools in the U.S., Europe, and China to see just how creative they could get with the NX10.

Samsung came up with a neat promotion for its new NX10, by putting it out in a photo competition for talented young art-school students. In partnership with the School of Visual Arts in New York, Samsung’s World Creative Imaging Competition enabled 120 students from fine art schools in the U.S., Europe, and China to see just how creative they could get with the NX10. Contestants had the month of March to come up with three excellent photos—ten finalists will be selected on April 14 to have their work included in a gallery exhibit in Beijing. And, in the meantime, a gallery of the images is up online, where you can vote on selected images in a speed-voting process. (We’ve checked it out and are impressed with some of the talent.)
