WNYC Radio yesterday announced the winner of its Street Shots Challenge, an online street photography competition: 51-year-old Harlem native Joe Wigfall beat out nearly 1,000 other (pro and amateur) contestants for a month-long exhibit at the Camera Club of New York (336 West 37th Street, between Eighth & Ninth Avenues). Tonight, those in the New York area can stop by the reception for the exhibition, which features Wigfall’s photos, a video of Wigfall at work, and submissions by other participants, as well as writer and guest judge Luc Sante’s presentation of the award to Wigfall. The exhibit will run through August 8 and those not in New York can also see the submissions at www.wnyc.org/streetshots/.

To find out how Wigfall perfected his winning technique, Pop Photo grabbed the street snapshooter for a short Q&A. (After the Jump)
