You read it here first: The World’s Largest Photo is traveling. (At least it’s billed that way.) The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, has just announced that it will display Great Picture (above) from September 6 to 29 at the school’s South Campus Wind Tunnel. Previously, anyone who wanted to see this 3,375-square-foot gelatin silver print had to visit the former El Toro Marine Corps base in Irvine, California, where a giant hangar had been converted into a massive “camera obscura.” A gumball-sized hole in the hangar’s wall served as the aperture for the image, which appeared upside down and flipped left to right on a humongous sheet of photo-sensitive fabric. (Visit msnbc.com for details.)
