Three lenses designed for the J1 and V1 have been given firmware updates by Nikon, fixing two bugs:

  • An issue that sometimes caused the aperture value recorded in image data to differ from the actual aperture value at which the image was shot has been resolved.
  • An issue that in some rare cases caused images to be blurred when shot immediately after the camera was shaken or moved quickly has been resolved.

The updated lenses are the 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6, the 1 Nikkor VR 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6, and the 1 Nikkor VR 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 PD-Zoom. The latter of which is only getting the blur fix, and is only version 1.01, where the other two are 1.02. The links above should work for users in the USA, and for those in Canada and Europe, you can grab links from here.

While the fixes are minor, it’s great to see that Nikon is being proactive about trying to keep the lenses in their new system as up-to-date as possible. The holiday season will be a big test for the 1 Series and it only makes sense that Nikon would want the whole system looking as slick as Asthon in a tuxedo.
