By now, you're probably used to hearing about Pentax putting out colored DSLR bodies, but now the multi-colorway system has crept all the way up to Pentax's top-of-the-line 645D medium format DSLR.

The kit comes with a 645D festooned in a deep, marbled red color that actually looks extremely classy. Well, at least compared to some of the bright, wacky color options you'll find in their lower-end bodies. The rest of the package includes a special-edition strap and a paulownia-wood package. The whole thing was put together in honor of the 645D being named "Camera of the Year" at the Camera Grand Prix Japan 2011.

Aside from the new outfit, the camera is identical to its comparatively drab sibling, offering the same 40-megapixel resolution, medium format CCD sensor and rugged body construction.

if you want one, you better get to ordering one right away because they'll be building them to order and there will be a minimum of four months before it's actually delivered. There's no mention of price.

What do you think of the red? The finish makes me think of the TV show Dexter for some reason. Can't imagine why…
