This week, we’ll preview a few of the photography exhibits in 2013 that we think are worth seeing—and maybe even worth making a special trip to see. First up is a retrospective of Garry Winogrand’s photographs at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). Along with Lee Friedlander, Winogrand is revered as one of America’s best street photographers, and the museum says that “the curatorial research undertaken for this project has made possible the first exhibition and catalogue that reveal to the public the full breadth of Winogrand’s oeuvre.” If you aren’t familiar with Winogrand’s work yet, this video will certainly give you an idea of his approach to photography:

Certainly, anyone with an interest in street photography would do well to make it to San Francisco. The exhibit runs from March 9 to June 2.
