Reflection of Spring

As part of the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival held in Washington D.C., the festival organizers teamed up with FotoDC to create the National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest, a photo contest open to any and all who attended the event, with cash and prizes to the top three in any category. The contest was divided into three sections: Landscape, Festivities and People, and the winners for all three have just been announced. The first place image for landscapes (above) was taken by Bernard Chen using a Nikon D700, and titled “Reflection of Spring.”

First place in the People section went to Chantal Dusuel, with the shot “Taking Photos of the Washington Monument,” taken using Hipstamatic for the iPhone.

The first prize in the Festivities section went to Patel Jaimin with the photograph “Johnnei Walker,” shot with a Canon T1i.
