Earlier this week, two remarkably well-formed rumors sprung up around a potential new camera from Polaroid. And, in an uncommon move, Polaroid has confirmed the story, and will be announcing more come CES next month.

The rumors from earlier this week claimed that the Polaroid IM1836 will be an Android 4 powered interchangeable lens camera, packing 18MP, a 3.5-inch touchscreen, pop-up flash, Wi-Fi, HDMI, headphone out ports, as well as panorama and blink detection features — and it’ll apparently record to MicroSD card.

It’s extremely unusual for a company to comment on leaks like this, but Polaroid have done so, but only in as much as to say that “there will be an Android powered, interchangeable lens camera. Additional information and specs will be released during the show.”
