Wet Plate Photography

Wet plate and other old, alternative photo processes have been creeping back into popularity over the past few years. Last year, we got to tag along with the awesome Justin Borucki who develops his own wet plate photographs on the streets of NYC. This interesting PBS documentary from their Post Cards series profiles David Rambow, a modern wet plate shooter.

The documentary is only 12 minutes long, but it has some interesting information and it also provides some interesting context into a process that’s complicated, fussy, time-consuming, and just plain awesome.

I have personally had the urge to jump back into large format film recently and inspirational stuff like this doesn’t help my eBay addiction.
