Your Best Shot September thumb

Our monthly Your Best Shot contest is getting bigger every month. This month’s submissions were over 2,000, and many of them were fantastic. But, we need a finalist gallery, so here it is.

The result is a collection of great portraits, epic landscapes, macro shots, and a ton of other photographic experiments that worked incredibly.

Go through the gallery and get some inspiration. Then head over to our Contests page for a chance to show off your own work and win your own prizes.

The official winner of the September contest will be announced in an upcoming issue of the magazine.

Lost Church

By Jason Smith This photo was taken in the heart of the North Dakota oil patch, where dark skies are becoming tough to come by. A flare stack from a few miles away benefited the exposure, casting a light glow on the side of the church. Also added for affect were a few flash bursts inside with a green gel
