Manish Mamtani captured this night time scene in Arches National Park with a Canon 5D Mark III and a 30 second exposure at ISO 2500. Once the camera was set up Mamtani ran under the rock and illuminated the north window with a headlamp placed on the ground. A few moments after the exposure Mamtani says the Milky Way was no longer visible. See more work here.

Today’s Photo of the Day comes from Sankar Salvady and is a view not often seen of the iconic Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. Using a Canon 5D Mark III, Salvady captured a few images of the Arch’s often photographed western face, before deciding to switch things up. “I quickly ran to the other side (exercise caution in doing so), to catch the glimpse of last light from the setting sun lighting the bottom face of delicate arch,” Salvady writes.
