Video: Camera Drones Capture Haunting Footage of Chernobyl Exclusion Zone
Soar above the remains of the Ukrainian ghost town
Earlier this year, while on assignment for CBS News, filmmaker Danny Cooke captured some incredible footage of the Chernobyl exclusion zone and the abandoned nearby city Pripyat.
While many photographers have ventured into the vacant city since the 1986 reactor meltdown, Cooke’s drone’s-eye-view (shot with a DJI Phantom 2 with GOPro3+) still captures an eerie feeling. “There was something serene, yet highly disturbing about this place,” Cooke writes on the Vimeo page where the short was published.
