Boxtrolls Time-Lapse Reminds Us How Much Work Goes Into Stop Action Animation
A humorous, but effective reminder of the tedious nature of stop action animation

Full disclosure: I didn’t actually see the movie Boxtrolls. That said, I have seen pleny of stop-action animation movies and TV shows and I have always been impressed by the sheer amount of work that goes into creating something so intricate. This little time-laps from the end credits of Boxtrolls is there to remind us that every single frame in the movie required insane attention to detail by an artist.
Just watching as the artist’s shirt changes to signify the passing of an entire day is fascinating in and of itself. I feel like I should watch the movie now just because of how much hard work went into it.
Have you ever tried your hand at stop-action animation?
