Video: Brandon Stanton on Creating Humans of New York
A look into the process of a wildly popular street portrait series
Humans of New York is a massive street portrait project by photographer, Brandon Stanton. It has amassed a huge following online and now there’s a full-on photography book of the images. American Photo did a great profile on him a while back, and now Mashable has put together an interesting video in which they go out on the street with him on a typical shooting day.
Watching him interact with strangers is a rather fascinating thing. For many would-be street photographers, the possibility of an awkward interaction with someone you don’t know can be too much to get past. For Brandon, though, it seems to come naturally.
