satellite eyes

Satellite Eyes is a free Mac app that updates your wallpaper every time you change locations to a nearby satellite shot, giving you an incredible aerial view, regardless of your local.

The app taps into Mac OS X’s Location Services, an enormous database of Wi-Fi access point locations, which is used to triangulate and pinpoint where you are, at least vaguely. Developer Tom Taylor then has the app pull an appropriate overhead view from OpenStreetMap, Bing Maps, and the incredible Stamen Designs — famed makers watercolor map tiles.

So if you loved the pseudo-aerial photography of Stratocam, Satellite Eyes will give you the same perspective for you, wherever you migh be that day.
