Learn About Photographers' Rights From an Animated Ghost of Ben Franklin

A lighthearted video touts free speech in light of recent attacks on photographers' rights

It seems like not a day goes by without a new story about a photographer being harassed for taking pictures at a public event or in a public space. Especially in light of a recent police beating in New York City that was caught on video, knowing your rights as a photographer is more important than ever.

Enter The American Civil Liberties Union and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. They’ve created this too adorable for words video about photographing in public. While a lot of the footage centers around the “Occupy” protests, and the message touts using your camera to stop corruption, the rights explained in the video apply to any photography in a public place and it’s useful information for photographers to know. And with catchy lyrics, and a snappy beat you aren’t likely to forget this lesson anytime soon.
