Samsung went out on a limb when they stuck front-facing LCD displays on their TL220 and TL225 compact cameras. But, apparently that gamble has paid off because today the DualView line is getting two new additions at the top of the heap. Both the ST600 and ST100 have a 1.8-inch LCD (compared to a 1.5-inch screen on the older models), which can be activated via hardware switch or simply by tapping on it.
In addition to the size bump, they have also tried to make the front-facing LCD more useful, adding a few unique features like Couples Mode, which automatically snaps a photo when it senses two faces tilted toward one another, as well as Jump Shot mode, which prompts subjects to jump and then captures three consecutive frames to help you get that cliche-but-popular frozon-in-mid-air portrait shot. They also kept the things that seemed to be working in the earlier models, like a visual timer countdown and child mode, which uses the front LCD to display a cartoon image with sound in hopes of making little ones smile.
