As most of you know, professional food photography is serious business, requiring perfect set-ups and careful styling to ensure the edible model looks as appetizing as possible. Apparently Domino’s Pizza is confident that just about every pizza churned out by their chainstores is worthy of an impromptu photoshoot. The rules for the Show Us Your Pizza contest ask that entrants agree to a “photo promise,” which requires shooters to photograph actual Domino’s pizzas without using any tricks of the food photo trade.

Ultimately, they will be picking four winners, each of which will win $500 and a chance (not a guarantee) that their pizza shot will be used in a national marketing campaign. It’s an interesting concept, especially when you consider that fast food places such as this regularly take criticism when their actual products can’t live up to the aesthetic watermark set by their large-production ads.
