According to Lowepro product manager, Tim Grimmer, Lowepro looked at their already-solid SlingShot AW series with feedback from photographers in mind. That’s what we like to hear. The resulting upgrades come in the form of a new Hideaway Tripod Mount system and a more efficient layout for better access and more protection. The upper compartment in each model has been expanded to allow room for more personal items amd smaller gadgets to compliment the quick-rotating design. The main camera compartment uses an updated divider system, designed to play nicely with modern DSLRs (the original SlingShot AW series debuted back in 2005). The built-in microfiber cleaning cloth is easy to access, but out of the way and the Hideaway Tripod Mount securely holds a tripod or monopod on the side of the pack with a quick release buckle and strap.
Like the previous version, it includes the All Weather cover and has SlipLock attachment loops for carrying moregear. There are three different models to choose from, including the 102 AW ($89.99), 202 AW ($109.99) and 302 AW ($129.99). They all come in an understated black and grey colorway. More photos after the jump.
