Chris Richey submitted this image taken with a Sony DSC-T1, with an exposure of 1/160sec at f/7, ISO 100. This photo works well vertical, but it's a shame that those extra silhouettes are at the top of the image. Just the main three walkers and shadows make a stronger image. The black shadows on the sides helps frame the photo and the shadowed vertical lines are also nice. If you are set on the vertical crop I would suggest cropping some off of the bottom. Chris also has a horizontal version of this image with just the three main walkers cropped in more tightly, which is much stronger. As you know, photos with an odd number of objects are more appealing to our eyes from a graphic standpoint. The black and white also works beautifully.
