Your Photo: Our Critique

This image submitted by Josh Buckler was taken with a Nikon D80, with an exposure of 1/50sec at f/14, ISO 200.  This photo has great color and nice converging lines with a leading line moving you through the image.  The sky is very unusual.  Photographing just the road with the sky would be not be as interesting as this image is with the black dog breaking up the scene.   The only thing I would suggest is to play around with the crop to see if a different crop would result in a stronger image.  This crop works fine, giving you a nice diagonal line across the image.  Another idea would be to crop off some of the foreground and a tad of the right, basically eliminating the more rounded plant that is already partially cropped out.  This crop leaves the road to lead you through the image but moves the curve in the road off center.  A tighter crop also gives the viewer a sense of being right there and allows for a better connection to the photo.
