Carolyn Kauffman submitted this image taken with a Canon 400D, with and exposure of 1/250 sec at f/5.6,  ISO 400.  This photo is an almost, the girl is clearly the subject, but the ear is the most prominent object in the photo. Clearly going for a prolife shot but it doesn’t jump out and grab your attention. If the photographer had moved just a little around to the right, more of her eye might have been visible, still in profile and the image would be more engaging, as it is now the ear is the first thing the viewer sees and then immediately her glance takes the viewer’s eyes right out of the frame. This is a good start but there is a stronger image waiting to be taken with some attention to the details.
