Your Photo: Our Critique

Ryan Montoya submitted this image with no additional data. Ryan has looked beyond the obvious by shooting upwards and showing the detail above the structure which brings in a lot of lines adding interest to the photo. In composing this image Ryan made a good choice in his placement of the sign. Despite the arrow, which could draw your attention out of the frame, the beam the sign is placed on creates a nice curved leading line right back into the frame.I would like to see a little more across the top instead of cutting off the beam on the right which would also close the triangle top center, I realize that is being really particular.  Ryan got lucky with the sky and a few clouds which also add interest as he converted to black and white. The black-and-white really adds to the image.
