Your Photo: Our Critique

This image was submitted by Michelle Goodall, taken with an Olympus E-520, with and exposure of 1/80 sec at f/14, ISO 400, with a +1.3 EV.  It was very cold and very early in the morning when this photo was taken. This is a unique and different spin on a wildlife image. The resulting image has an almost painterly feel, the two birds that are not standing add a layer of interest breaking up the “pattern” of the ones on the ground. The birds in flight in the upper left of the photo are abruptly cut off, I would like to see more space for them on the upper section of the frame or crop them out completely. It is very easy to get caught up in the perfect image, but there really is no set perfect image, this is very art-like and that is what makes it a very nice photograph. Good job on seeing something different and capturing it.
