According to reports, Vanity Fair will not publish a "Green Issue" this year, or, presumably, forevermore.
The magazine says that environmental issues are covered in so many different news stories these days that it is unnecessary to have a single issue dedicated to the subject. In other words, "Green" may not be as hip now that republicans are out of office.
Will you miss it? VF has done Green issue for the past three years, and I thought the issues were an uncomfortable mix of celebrity and public policy. But the topic did lend itself to some memorable covers. In 2006 Annie Leibovitz covered a famous image by Irving Penn ("Ballet Society"), and in 2008 Steven Meisel shot Madonna as an Earth MILF.
