Your Photo: Our Critique

Charlotte Johnson submitted this image taken with a Canon Rebel XT, with no other available data. This is an interesting photo and if viewed in the manner Charlotte sees it, as an abstract it is a bit of a mind bender, at least for me.

This is an interesting photo and if viewed in the manner Charlotte sees it, as an abstract it is a bit of a mind bender, at least for me. Technically, the exposure is good, depending on the monitor it is viewed on it could be considered a tad underexposed.  This photo grabs your attention for a number of reasons.  First it isn’t clear what you are looking at and it appears upside down.  The paws are so close to the nose, it is in water and for all practical purposes there are very few distinguishable clues to immediately recognize it.  Let’s face it, how many people have seen an otter up close and personal, and would expect to see one with no real features.  For this reason it is lacking but as an abstract it is a fascinating photo.
