This OpEd video from the New York Times  discusses a recently proposed law in France that would force magazines to disclose the amount of retouching that goes into the images it publishes. While the lessons about negative body image over photos like these produce is nothing new, the inside look at the very heavy amount of retouching is intriguing (particularly in the case of the Lucky cover where a photo of a model made from a composite from four separate images).
