It has been an effective strategy for the compact market, but the cost of producing that many variations might be a bit much to tackle in a tough economy.

We know that the K2000 looks good dressed up in white and black, but apparently it's not too shabby in fatigue green, either. This $800 olive green kit is currently only available in Japan as a limited run, but that was the case with the white one as well before it made its way to the states. Personally, I'm a little surprised camera companies don't do more colored DSLR bodies, especially on the low end of things. It has been an effective strategy for the compact market, but the cost of producing that many variations might be a bit much to tackle in a tough economy. Of course, there's Leica's M8.2 Special Edition "Safari" for those wealthy folks who haven't been affected by the downturn. Picture after the break.
