Ah, Austin in Spring.

I for one never get tired of photos depicting severe weather, the staple of local journalism. On March 25, Austin, Texas was hit by golf ball-sized hail, and photographers spread out to show the damage to car windows and such. The Austin American-Statesman has a portfolio of the images, including this one by Ricardo B. Braziell, which show Austin resident Tony Peterson collecting hail to be preserved in his freezer.

(Hopefully, it will be used later to chill a beverage when the Texas summer weather hits.) What I really enjoyed was one of the advertising banners accompanying the portfolio (below). I guess April is much nicer than March.--David Schonauer
