HP offers cash for old electronics

Computer manufacturer Hewlett-Packard Co. announced recently that it will start offering cash for reusable electronics. HP said its Consumer Buyback and Planet Partners Recycling Program will provide cash back for unwanted computers, monitors, printers, digital cameras, personal digital assistants and smartphones of any brand. While there is a long list of bands and models that they accept, if you have very old stuff chances are it won’t be on the list. Electronics have to be in working order, and the cost of shipping is paid by HP, but taken from your buy back money. If your item isn’t deemed valuable enough to buy back, HP offers a recycling service.
