Your Photo: Our Critique

This photo was submitted by Bob Keller taken with a Canon 5D, 1/160 sec at f/5.6, ISO 100. Taken in a zoo, Bob has done a good job to keep the background clean. The vertical crop works, knowing the main focus was the zebra’s face go ahead and include the feet since you have included the rest of him/her.

The vertical crop works, knowing the main focus was the zebra's face go ahead and include the feet since you have included the rest of him/her. Bob has made sure to not center the zebra but the left side feels tight, try to leave a small separation between the subject and the edge of the frame. Focus on the zebra is soft. Adjusting the contrast will enhance the blacks on the zebra. The stare is very effective, which is what Bob patiently waited for. Nice image with a lot of forethought put into it.
