Lance Burns submitted this photo taken with a Canon EOS 40D with an exposure of 1/13 sec at f/2.8, ISO 800. The conversion to black-and-white doesn’t do much for this photo, I think viewing the photo in color would give it more life. Also, the expression on the boy’s face is bored, which in this case makes the viewer feel bored as well. His face isn’t very sharp, when shooting people, make sure you focus on their eyes. I suggest using a shutter speed of 1/60 sec or faster when hand holding a camera with image stabilization or else your picture will not be as sharp as it can be. Get your subject to smile or laugh, it makes for a more interesting shot. Also, this photo is flat and can use more contrast.
