I missed this announcement yesterday, but when I came back to it today I was a little astounded. The new version of Windows will not include email and photo editing apps. Those were included (to much Microsoft ballyhoo) in Vista. One of the reasons given for dropping the apps was that it will make it easier and quicker to issue new operating system releases. Instead of including the apps as part of the operating system, Microsoft will the service-connected Windows Live versions as optional free downloads. Do you care?–David Schonauer
