Cute dog, bad crop. Edward Morris submitted this photo of his friendly pup taken with color film, something we haven't seen in a while. The subject is extremely cute but placed incorrectly. Never put your subject in the center of the photo! I suggest a subtle crop to work this problem out. I like that you can see the dog's eye. That's very important in an animal portrait. There is some noise in the background. I suggest shooting with a lower ISO, or slower film if that's your preference. Edward achieved nice detail in the dark dog fur, but some of the blades of grass are blown out. I suggest burning in the grass on the right side of the photo. Here's the photo with my mini-makeover.
