Layers in Photoshop give you great control over adjustments on your photographs, and are simple to use once you understand how they work. Check out Digital Photography School for Jodi Friedman's (MCP Actions) explanation of how to use layers to your advantage. She explains how Layers can be used to create a border, add text, and how to make an adjustment in curves or levels.
