When shooting at the beach, it can be difficult to avoid falling victim to the photo clichés. In order to make your beach shots really stand out, you’ll have to think outside the box. Landscapes can be empty and boring because it is hard to find a point of interest, so look for a unique focal point or something that creates a good amount of interest in the picture. Also, avoid placing your horizon in the middle of the frame; there are few photos that are more boring. Next time you’re near a beach, explore it alone and take the time to take a good look around. Hopefully, you’ll notice something you never noticed before that will blow those clichés right out of the water. Read more at Digital Photography School.
