This photo was submitted by Nicole Donovan. She shot it with a Canon 20D and used Portrait Professional software in editing. Usually you should not place your subject in the dead center of the frame. Try cropping out the left portion of the photo. I like the engaging stare in the little girl’s eyes; it really brings the viewer in. The exposure on her face is done well, but the water in the background is blown out. Nice use of focus to the throw the background out of focus while keeping the subject intact.
