In a basic portrait the eyes pull you in, but with this shot there is more depth because of the lack of eye contact. To improve upon this I would compose it with some of the shirt on the left of the frame to support the black necklace and keep you in the frame, the openness of the left corner allows the eye to wonder straight out of the image. Overall I think this is a great image and well done in black and white.
