Your Photo: Our Critique

BeforeAfter Julie Beck used the sports mode on her Kodak EasyShare C613 to capture this moment. The exposure was 1/500sec at f/5.6, ISO 80. Julie has a great start to a wonderful image. I added an alternative crop. First straighten the horizon, then look at your subject and think about what you want your photo to say. The shadow was already partially missing so it’s not adding to the image.

I added an alternative crop. First straighten the horizon, then look at your subject and think about what you want your photo to say. The shadow was already partially missing so it's not adding to the image. The horizontal crop still gives you a feel of the moment. Now that you have experience in freezing action Julie, explore different settings and approaches.
