Georgie Paul was thinking ahead as she took this picture. Sitting in the backseat her goal was to capture the line of trees in the rearview mirror. The black and white conversion she says came from the need to simplify all of the conflicting colors. The photo was taken with a Nikon D40x, but the data has been lost in all of the conversions. Knowing the focal point was the reflection of the trees in the mirror I would recommend a different crop. The vertical crop brings the focus back to the trees in the mirror and continues the vertical feel of the image. You might even consider cropping more off of the top. I think you had great forethought, and were on the right track.
