This photo submitted by Christopher Chua is an attempt at panning. I'll admit from first-hand experience that panning isn't easy; it's a technique that takes a lot of time and practice to perfect. I do like the placement of the biker on the right hand side, what I don't like is that nothing is in focus. Panning should be about making the background out of focus and your moving subject in focus. I suggest the photographer practices on slower moving subjects for an easier panning shot. Also, the biker is too dark—there is very little detail in his face. Good try and keep at it!
