**This photo submitted by Pete Langlois is not a bad start, but there are a few changes I made. The first thing I noticed was that overall the photo was too dark, especially the area of rocks. I brightened up everything to make it pop more off the page and get more detail. Next time meter the rocks directly without the sky for more of an accurate exposure. Take out the small but significantly distracting bird. It doesn't add anything to the photo. Another thing I did was to sharpen the photo. The lighthouse and the clouds were too soft. Overall, there was just too much sky. I cropped the photo to pack more punch in the frame. These small adjustments make a big difference.
