Video Raises Questions About the Death of Japanese Photographer in Myanmar

Be forewarned: The video here contains ample violence. It shows the wounding of Japanese photographer Kenji Nagai last week in Myanmar. Nagai was covering the conflict there between protesters and government troops when he was shot. He later died. The video shows that Nagai may have been deliberately shot by soldiers, and that fact has led to an official inquiry from the Japanese government. According to this report, the 50-year-old Nagai, who was working for the Tokyo-based APF News agency, was a veteran conflict photographer. But as the video shows, the riots in Myanmar were truly chaotic and thoroughly charged with danger.--David Schonauer
