Fall is here and in most states, that means it’s county fair time. Here are two tips to get the most from the carousels, crowds, neon lights and livestock. 1) Brace Yourself: When shooting the rides, lower your shutter speed (under 1/30 sec) to get streaking effects. In order to keep your streaks straight, brace your elbows against your chest and breathe out before you shoot. 2) Go Behind The Scenes: Scoot around the edge of the booths to shoot the side of the fair visitors don't see. You never know what interesting stuff you might find: off duty workers, inner workings of ride machinery.
